How To Start Dropshipping With Claude AI In 2027

Starting an online business used to take months of setup, a hefty budget, and a long list of technical skills. Today, however, AI has changed the game completely. Travis Marziani has done over $10 million in online sales, and he now builds an AI dropshipping store where every single step takes five minutes or less. In fact, building the store itself takes about 60 seconds.

Even better, the entire process costs just $2. You spend $1 on an AutoDS trial and $1 on your first month of Shopify, and every other step is free. By the end of this guide, you will have a complete store live on the internet, ready to take real orders and make real money.

First, we will tackle the step that keeps most beginners stuck for weeks: building the store. Then, we will walk through finding a winning product, branding it, pricing it, and getting your first sales. Finally, we will share the model Travis actually uses to make most of his money online, because it opens the door to even bigger opportunities.

Build Your Entire Store in 60 Seconds

An AI store builder generates a complete Shopify dropshipping store in under a minute. The homepage shows banners, product sections and a clean layout.

Most beginners assume they need to choose a product before they build anything. Surprisingly, that is the exact mistake that slows them down. When you build the store first, you remove the biggest bottleneck right away. As a result, you can test products quickly, swap them in and out, and keep your momentum going.

Think of your store as a reusable stage. Once it exists, any product you find can step onto it in minutes. Therefore, you never have to start from scratch again.

Using Build Your Store to Generate Shopify With AI

Using build your store to create a shopify store fro dropshipping

To get started, Travis uses a free tool called Build Your Store, which generates an entire Shopify store with AI. First, click “Build My Free Store,” and the tool takes you straight into Shopify. Next, fill in your Shopify details and hit “Claim a Store.” The tool then sends you back and asks you to pick a niche, which gives the AI direction on layout and structure. If you have not chosen a category yet, simply select “I’m not sure” and keep moving.

After that, pick two banner images. You will replace them with your own graphics later, so don’t overthink this part. Then, activate your Shopify Basic plan, which costs just $1 per month for your first three months. The Basic plan does everything you need, and you can upgrade once the sales start rolling in.

Finally, hit “I’m done,” skip the add-on step, and click “Customize My Store.” From there, the AI takes over and builds your homepage, banners, product sections, and a clean layout without a single line of code. Just like that, you have a functional store in under a minute.

Better yet, AutoDS, the tool that powers everything behind the scenes, automatically adds proven products to your homepage. Technically, you could start selling right away. However, Travis encourages you to aim higher and find a product that is truly yours, which brings us to step two.

Find a Winning Product With the TRUE Method

A dropshipper reviews trending product data to find a winning product. The TRUE method helps filter products for an AI dropshipping store.

Finding the right product is the single most important decision you make in your dropshipping journey. Fortunately, you don’t have to rely on guesswork or gut feelings anymore. Travis uses a simple, repeatable framework that helps you filter out weak ideas quickly and focus only on products with real potential. Even better, this method works whether you’re launching your very first store or testing your tenth product. Once you learn it, you’ll spot winners faster and spend far less time and money on products that were never going to sell.

T Is for Trending

Every winning product checks three boxes, and Travis calls this the TRUE method. If a product misses even one box, you skip it and move on. The first letter, T, stands for trending. You want a product that has started gaining momentum over the last few weeks but has not peaked yet.

Interestingly, you don’t want to be the very first person selling something. When other sellers already run ads for a product, you get to see exactly what works for them. Consequently, you skip weeks of guessing. On top of that, shoppers already understand the product before your ad appears, so your ads perform better.

For this reason, the best strategy right now is to take products that have just started blowing up on TikTok Shop. Still, you can’t tell whether a trend is growing or dying just by looking at it. You need real data.

Reading the Data in AutoDS TikTok Analytics

reading data in Auto DS for TikTok Analytics that could help in dropsipping

This is where AutoDS shines. AutoDS is built specifically for dropshippers, and its TikTok Analytics feature shows you every product taking off on TikTok Shop, complete with real sales numbers. To find it, log in and click “TikTok Analytics” under “Marketplace” in the left sidebar.

Next, look at the 7-day sales trend for each product, because it tells you whether a trend is still climbing. When you click on a product, you also see its viral index, popularity score, and revenue from the last month. Then, filter by category and set the time range to the last 7 days. Instantly, you are looking at every product trending upward right now.

Here is a helpful tip: if the 7-day chart dips slightly over a weekend and recovers during the week, that is completely normal buying behavior. To confirm real momentum, check the 30-day chart as well. A smooth upward curve tells you that demand is genuinely building.

R Is for Relevant

Not every trending product deserves a spot in your store. The R in TRUE stands for relevant, which means your product must solve a real problem people deal with every single day. A random gadget that looks cool for five seconds simply won’t build a lasting business.

Instead, focus on the strongest niches: health, looks, pets, and kids. These categories work so well because people spend money on them quickly and happily.

U Is for Unique

Next, the U stands for unique. Remember, your customer has never heard of your brand before. So, if they see your ad and think, “I could grab this at Walmart,” you lose them immediately.

On the other hand, a unique product makes people stop and think, “Wait, I’ve never seen this before.” That small spark of curiosity drives the click. Without the click, you never get the chance to make the sale, so uniqueness matters enormously.

Product Categories to Avoid

To give yourself the best odds, choose products that are easy to demo on video, ideally with a clear before and after. Meanwhile, skip skincare, wrinkle products, makeup, and clothing. Advertising costs in those spaces run high because competition is fierce.

Similarly, steer clear of hair products and complicated tech. Simple, visual, problem-solving products give you the smoothest path to your first sales.

A Real Example: The Slow Feeder Dog Bowl

A slow feeder dog bowl shown as a winning dropshipping product example. TikTok Shop sales data shows rising demand for this pet product

To show the TRUE method in action, Travis chose the pets category, which consistently performs well. While scrolling through the results, he spotted a slow feeder dog bowl with a climbing 7-day trend line. After opening the full analytics page, the numbers looked excellent: 80,000 units sold and over $50,000 in total sales, with the trend still rising.

More importantly, the product checks every box. It solves a real daily problem, it is easy to demo, and the demand is fully validated. Just like that, Travis found a winning product.

Next, he scrolled past the charts to find every TikTok video promoting the bowl, sorting by most viewed, most liked, and most commented. Additionally, he used the AutoDS Ad Spy tool to see the ads converting on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. This reveals the hooks, angles, and numbers behind each ad, and you can even download videos to reference later.

If you ever feel stuck, AutoDS also offers a Handpicked Products tab. Its team and AI have already validated these products, and each one shows potential profit, saturation level, and the ideal target customer. As a result, you can compare a few options side by side and choose a winner with confidence.

Add Your Product and Turn It Into a Real Brand

A Shopify product page with an AI-generated brand name and product photos. Dropshipping branding turns a supplier product into a real brand.

Once you have a winner, hit “Import Draft.” Then, before publishing, go into your drafts and delete the default products AutoDS added earlier. You want customers focused on one great product, not distracted by choices. After that, hit “Publish,” and within about 20 seconds, your product appears in Shopify with images, variants, and a basic description.

However, the page isn’t ready to sell yet. The title comes directly from AliExpress, the images are flat supplier photos, and there’s no pricing strategy. To prepare your page for real traffic, you need three things: a brand name, strong product images, and smart pricing.

Naming and Positioning With Claude

Naming and positioning with Claude

To start, open a new chat in Claude and upload a clear photo of your product. Then, explain what it does, who it helps, what competitors charge, and the main frustration it solves. Next, ask Claude for 15 product names of one or two words each. Every name should make the product obvious and hint at its main benefit. Also, ask for three clear marketing positions based on the daily problem it solves, using simple wording and no claims you can’t prove.

This level of detail matters because your customer has never heard of you. Your name must explain in one second why they should buy. For the dog bowl, Travis chose the name Gulp Guard.

Even better, AutoDS now has an official connector inside Claude. Simply click “Connectors,” search for AutoDS, and log in. It takes about 30 seconds and even works on Claude’s free plan. Afterward, you can ask Claude to find trending products, import them to your drafts, publish them, and pull margin reports, and it always asks for your approval before changing anything.

Creating Professional Product Images With AI

Next, you can use ChatGPT or Gemini, even on the free plans, to create professional product photos that sell. First, upload as many photos of the product as possible, including the front, back, different angles, and someone holding it. The more the AI sees, the less it invents.

Second, tell the AI who your target customer is. Your audience guides everything, from the colors to the setting to whether the product sits on a marble counter or a gym floor. Third, fix one thing at a time. If something looks off, say something like, “Same image, but make the handle black.” Otherwise, you get an entirely new photo and lose your progress.

Price for Profit From Day One

A calculator and price tag illustrate a pricing strategy. Multiplying product cost by 3 keeps healthy profit margins from day one.

Pricing is where many beginners leave money on the table, so this step deserves your full attention. Thankfully, Travis uses a simple formula. First, take your cost for one unit, including sourcing and shipping. Then, multiply it by three and round up to a price ending in .95 or .99.

For example, the dog bowl costs $11.63 to source and ship. Multiplied by three, that equals $34.89, which rounds up to $34.99. Most importantly, make sure you keep at least 50% profit before ad spend. This margin gives you room to promote your product and still stay profitable.

This is exactly the advantage of entering a trend early. Six months from now, sellers will fight each other on price. Right now, however, there’s nobody to fight, so you get to set the price instead of matching it.

Additionally, you can increase your margins without raising your price by encouraging customers to buy more. For instance, offer free shipping on orders of two or more units. That small difference makes the larger offer feel like a much better deal, which means more profit for you.

Write Copy and Brand the Store in Minutes

A Shopify theme customizer showing a custom logo, banner and brand colors. AI tools write product copy and brand an online store in minutes.

Now, your page needs a title and copy that converts. Fortunately, AutoDS includes an AI product page generator that writes your title, description, feature list, and benefit statements. Simply pick a tone, such as professional, casual, or social media, then hit “Generate,” followed by “Save and Import.” The finished product page then pushes straight into Shopify.

Next, give your whole store a branded feel, because customers buy from brands, not just products. Ask ChatGPT for a banner image that matches your product’s vibe, upload it to Shopify, and lower the opacity slightly so any text stays readable. In the same chat, request a simple logo and a short one-line tagline. A clean text logo in a modern font always looks more polished than a busy amateur design.

After that, open the Shopify theme customizer and find the accent color settings. Grab the hex codes from your logo and apply them to your buttons, links, header, and accents. Keep it simple: one main color and one accent color is all you need.

Finally, add a featured product section to your homepage and select your product. As the golden rule of ecommerce says, if customers have to search for it, they won’t buy it. With that, you have a fully branded store without a designer or a single line of code.

Automate Fulfillment and Add 3 Sales-Boosting Apps

A dropshipping dashboard showing automated order fulfillment from supplier to customer. Shopify apps for bundles, currency conversion and reviews boost store sales.

Here’s some great news: you already set up fulfillment. When you imported your product through AutoDS, you connected the supplier at the same time. So, when a customer orders, the order lands in your AutoDS dashboard. You confirm the payment method, and the supplier ships the product directly to your customer’s door.

Before launching, though, order a sample for yourself. That way, you can confirm the quality and avoid refunds and bad reviews later. This small step saves you plenty of headaches down the road.

The 3 Apps Worth Installing

Next, install three apps that boost sales almost instantly. First, the bundles app displays your offer tiers right on the product page. Set tier one as a single unit at your base price and tier two as buy two, get one free. Then, add a countdown timer, because a great deal plus a ticking clock nudges most shoppers toward the bigger option.

Second, install a currency converter. Set it to auto-detect each visitor’s country, round converted prices up to .99, and turn on flag icons. Now, shoppers in Australia, Germany, or Canada automatically see prices in their local currency.

Third, add a reviews app to build social proof. Import 5 to 10 reviews from your AliExpress supplier listing, focusing on ones with real photos of people holding the product. Even a handful of photo reviews reassures shoppers and often makes the difference between an abandoned visit and a completed purchase.

Get Your First Sales Without Big Ad Budgets

A creator films a TikTok video promoting a dropshipping product on a phone. Organic TikTok content and creator partnerships drive first sales without big ad budgets.

Before spending anything on ads, you can generate free sales with about 20 minutes a day on TikTok. Post every single day, filming yourself using the product on your phone. The lighting doesn’t need to be perfect, and you can even use AI to create TikTok videos.

Remember those top TikTok videos you found during product research? Watch the top five and model them at first, using the same hook style, pacing, and shots with your own product. Then, go into the comments of those videos and start answering questions. These comment sections are full of warm buyers who want the product, and some will click your profile and buy from you instead.

Partner With Small Creators

Rather than throwing $50 a day at ads, you can reach your first sales faster by working with creators. Go back to AutoDS TikTok Analytics, open your product, and scroll to the videos driving its sales. Every one of those creators has already sold this exact product to their audience.

Next, sort by most viewed and look for accounts with under 50,000 followers, since TikTok rewards viral videos regardless of follower count. Then, DM them with an offer of free product plus commission on every sale. Create a Shopify discount code with their name so you can track results easily. Send 100 DMs, and even if only 10 to 20 reply, that’s plenty to get started.

Scale With AI Ad Videos Once You Have Proof

Higgsfiel

Once you have proof that your product sells, paid ads become a smart investment instead of a gamble. Thankfully, running ads no longer requires an expensive agency. In fact, weird, funny, personal videos now outperform polished professional ads.

To create them, Travis recommends Higgsfield. Upload your product photo, choose an ad template, and the tool generates a batch of videos for you. You can also rebuild the formats already working for your product with your own branding. Then, create five different hooks, upload them all, and let the algorithm pick the winner.

Treat Every Product Test as Progress

Once you launch, one of two things happens. Either a video takes off and sales start flowing, or you post for three weeks without results. Both outcomes move you forward, because a product that doesn’t sell is simply giving you useful data.

When that happens, go back to AutoDS, find the next trending product, and swap it into the store you’ve already built. Once you know the system, this takes about 20 minutes. Dropshipping in 2027 rewards persistence, and every test sharpens your skills.

Since AI makes this process so accessible, many other people use the same tools and chase the same trends. That’s exactly why speed and consistency become your biggest advantages. The model works, and you now have everything you need to run it.

Even so, Travis points to one model that looks exactly like dropshipping did in 2016. Very few people are doing it, the ones who are rarely talk about it, and the margins look like dropshipping margins before everyone discovered them. This is the model Travis uses to make most of his money online.

The Next Level: Building a Passion Product Brand

passion product

Everything you learned in this guide sets you up beautifully for that next level: the Passion Product Formula. Instead of chasing trends with generic supplier products, you build your own branded product in a niche you genuinely care about and sell it on Amazon. Consequently, you gain stronger margins, far fewer copycats, and a brand that grows in value over time.

Best of all, your new skills carry over directly. Trend research becomes product validation. AI branding and naming help you create a product customers remember. Smart pricing protects your profits, and TikTok content plus creator partnerships drive traffic to your Amazon listing.

Travis and his team have already guided more than 4,000 students through this process. Whether you’re brand new or already running a store, the Passion Product Formula gives you a clear, proven roadmap to a business you’ll be proud to own.

So, if you’re ready for margins that feel like dropshipping’s early days, watch Travis’s video on the passion product model and explore the Passion Product Formula. Your next winning product might be the one you build yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it really cost to start an AI dropshipping store?

You can start for just $2. That covers a $1 AutoDS trial and $1 for your first month of the Shopify Basic plan. Every other tool in this guide offers a free option.

Do I need coding or design skills?

Not at all. Build Your Store generates your entire Shopify store with AI, and ChatGPT or Gemini create your images, banner, and logo. You simply follow the steps and customize a few settings.

How do I know if a TikTok product trend is still growing?

Check the 7-day sales trend in AutoDS TikTok Analytics, then confirm with the 30-day chart. A smooth upward curve over 30 days signals real, building demand, even if weekends show small dips.

What should I do if my first product doesn’t sell?

Treat it as useful data and move on. After about three weeks without traction, find the next trending product in AutoDS and swap it into your existing store, which takes roughly 20 minutes.

How is the Passion Product Formula different from dropshipping?

Dropshipping sells existing supplier products, often against many competitors using the same tools. The Passion Product Formula helps you build your own branded product in a niche you care about and sell it on Amazon, giving you stronger margins, less competition, and a long-term brand asset.
